Hi, I’m Mark Baartse. Here’s a bit about me.

I’m the MD of UseYourWeb.com, an online consultancy providing a holistic view of your website. I specialise in clear, jargon free communications - the web doesn’t have to be that confusing. For business & marketing people confused by technobabble this can be a welcome relief! Services include:

  • Consultancy: if you have a complex site that is underperforming, or if you need help tackling the business integration problems raised with your web presence, I can help.
  • Online CRM: “Customer Relationship Management” is a buzz phrase used a lot. Using CRM effectively is difficult. Integrating it with your online systems to provide end to end customer management and marketing measurement solutions is even more difficult. I’ve worked on projects managing over a billion dollars a year of marketing budget, and I’d love to help you.
  • Training: if you want to understand how your online presence works, I can provide “geek to business” translation services :)

Over the years, I’ve helped a range of clients meet their online potential. Amongst these clients are: Microsoft, BBC, MSN, Compaq and Mercedes Benz. This work has spanned the UK, Australia and USA. I’m currently living in Sydney, Australia.

What I am really passionate about is helping your online presence deliver business results, and working across the breadth of a site to help achieve that. You might have the best content in the world, but your technology is stopping you from publishing it in a timely or efficient way. Or, perhaps you have lost touch with your customers and want to find some innovative ways to get a flow of high quality feedback from your customers to prevent the “I’m the center of the universe” feeling that all large organisations (and many small ones) inevitably tend towards.

UseYourWeb.com was founded in 2005. Previous to that I’d done a range of work including:

  • Running Microsoft.com.au
  • Launching MSN portals into 24 countries
  • Launched the first BBC World Wide site
  • Helping Microsoft.com create an integrated end to end marketing campaign planning, management & reporting tool
  • Helped create two beautiful children (the raising of them is a long term ongoing project!)
